Watching them at close range is one of Africa’s most exciting wildlife experiences for many travelers. Half of the world’s gorilla population lives in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It’s no wonder this is one of Uganda’s most popular parks, together with the chimp hotspots Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kibale. Make sure you don’t miss out on the world’s longest river, the Nile, when visiting Uganda. The banks of this mighty river swarm with wildlife and the waters are full of hippos and Nile crocodiles. Witness the force of the Nile at Murchison Falls, where the Nile pushes itself through a small gap in the rocks before plunging down 45 m. This impressive waterfall is a wonderful show of nature. Uganda is the perfect destination for those who like to explore nature and wildlife off the beaten track, away from the crowds.
