Crater lakes tour
Enjoy the scenic views of 9 crater lakes in the Fort Portal area, during a hike around the lakes. This tour also includes a visit to local villages and a hike down to the lava pipe. This remarkable volcanic hole automatically pulls birds in flight and later releases them in an upward curve.

Community walk tour

This motorcycle adventure includes a visit to 12 crater lakes. On the way you pass tea plantations and small villages.

‘Top of the World’ hike
Hike to the Top of the World: the top peak at Kibale Forest. From this viewpoint you overlook three beautiful crater lakes, rolling hills and vanilla and banana plantations. The hike starts at Lake Nyabikere from where you can see the Rwenzori Mountains on a clear day. Along the trail you will pass local villages, coffee and tea plantations.

Tea farm tour
Tea is a major cash crop in Uganda. With plenty rain, sun, rich soil and high altitude, Fort Portals climate is ideal to grow tea. During this tour you visit an actual tea plantation and learn more about tea planting and harvesting. During this walk you also pass crater lakes.

Vanilla farm tour
Uganda is one of the world’s biggest vanilla exporters. Discover how vanilla is grown and cultivated on this tour. On the way you also have the chance to explore some crater lakes and get a glimpse into the daily life of the local people.

Rwenzori Mountains hot spring
The tour starts with a 45 min drive by car to the starting point. Hiking up the mountain to the hot springs takes about 3 hours. Bath in de hot spring and cool down in the cold river just a few meters away. It’s believed that these hot springs have healing power due to the mineral content and temperature of the water. Enjoy the serene surrounding and great views, as you wait for a boiled egg, cooked in the hot spring. A visit to one of the local villages is also part of this tour.

Rwenzori Mountains mini hike
This is a challenging hike from 1,500 to 3,000m above sea level. This off-the-beaten trail takes you through bamboo and montane forest and mountain villages where you meet local people. The sightings of the Rwenzori Mountains and the Western Rift Valley are spectacular.

Canoeing tour
Witness wildlife and nature from another perspective during this canoeing tour. You get an opportunity to canoe on either Lake Kifuruka (40 min) or Lake Mwamba (1 hour 30min). The walk to these crater lakes takes about 40mins and on the way you get the chance to see birds, butterflies and monkeys.

Mountain bike tour
Explore the beautiful scenery around Kibale National Park and the crater lakes by mountain bike. Cycle along single tracks through small villages, farms and coffee and tea plantations, together with a local guide. Helmets, guide and high quality mountain bikes are included. The mountain bikes are only available with a guide and cannot be rented independently.
