A scientist turned tour operator, Jork (or Nugo, as he is fondly known) started his life in Germany. He then moved to The Netherlands to further his education, and finally settled in beautiful Massachusetts, USA. His love and passion coupled with his curiosity for nature, animals, the outdoors and conservation makes this switch in careers a natural progression for him. An avid hiker, Nugo enjoys, travelling, exploring different cultures and promoting the “reduce, reuse, recycle” mentality. Hazel Nolling

A Ugandan, Hazel has lived quite the interesting life. From Uganda, to now Tanzania, via way of Ontario, then Massachusetts where she met Jork, she has traveled quite extensively. With a background in tours and travel in Uganda, a love for languages and different cultures and foods, her enthusiasm knows no bounds. Hazel speaks English, German, some French as well as Swahili and various Ugandan languages. The exposure, mix of cultures in both life and family, as well as love for travel, is an assurance that your trip will meet the expected standards of service. Sarah Egani

A Tanzanian, she hails from the Maasai tribe. Sarah has the privilege to call Ngorongoro her ancestral home and the famous Ngorongoro crater is practically a stone‘s throw away from where she grew up. Sarah’s family has lived here, in the cradle of mankind, for several generations, side by side with nature, and is very much involved in the conservation of this spectacular ecosystem. Her people hold great belief in the idea that their survival depends on respect and protection of the land and nature that surrounds them. Sarah’s mother, Margareth Moses, is the conservator at Laetoli Museum. With such a rich background, Tanuga Safaris is very fortunate to have Sarah on board. She also has an educational background in tourism and speaks fluent Maasai, Swahili and English. This, together with her upbringing, is a priceless asset to the company and our customers. Edwin Egani

Edwin is a self-described “anti-clockwise” thinker and thus our “think outside the box” person. An outdoor enthusiast from Uganda, a sportsman and avid reader, this career move to Tanuga Safaris is the perfect fit for Edwin. Throw in his knowledge of “IT” and you’ve got a winner! Edwin has become a son of the soil by his marriage into the Maasai tribe. Fluently in English and Swahili he enjoys meeting people from all walks of life.
