Endless plains

The Maasai call the Serengeti ‘the place where land moves forever’. It refers to the endless grassy plains that cover an area of nearly 30,000 km2 (12,000 sq. mi). Serengeti National Park is situated in northern Tanzania and spans all the way to the southwest of Kenya. The Serengeti ecosystem is one of the oldest ecosystems on earth and the flora and fauna has not changed much in time. Moreover, this legendary national park is also known for its magical sunsets. The wide open skies, never-ending horizon with silhouettes of giraffes and elephants, make the sunsets an unique experience. Watch the sun slowly color the sky into a palette of red, orange and pink, before disappearing over the horizon.

Great Wildebeest Migration

Drumming hoof beats, clouds of dust, huge lines of mammals, dramatic river crossing and predators on the hunt. The Great Migration in the Serengeti is the largest overland migration in the world. It is certainly a breathtaking wildlife show to see millions of wildebeest galloping across the vast plains, in search for greener pastures. Only the fittest and boldest survive this annual journey of 1200 km through Tanzania (Serengeti) and Kenya (Masai Mara). Whatever period of the migration you experience it will deliver all the beauty, drama and magic African nature has to offer.
